Legacies of Colonialism

This section contains links that will direct you to various sites about COLONIAL LATIN AMERICA. I have entitled this section Legacies of Colonialism because this title  encompasses the complex and often differentiated areas of study we call colonial and post-colonial fields. To assume, however, that everything Latin America is today is the direct result of these "legacies" is, I think, an oversimplification. There is no consensus about the adequacy of the language now in use. Although there is a continuous attempt to generate a germane terminology, notions such as transculturation, coloniality, postcoloniality, or subalternity constitute, in my opinion, provocative but still polemical and partial efforts on the part of intellectuals and academics alike to deal with a multitude of historical problems. Most of the links here bear an academic stamp and several are less academic. As I find and organize new links, spaces will find a reason for being. If there is a link that you feel I should include or update please
