Planned labs for Astro 51:
Lab 1: (Indoors) Telescopes and spectroscopes
Lab 2: (Outdoors) Using the star and planet locator, and astrophotography with 35mm cameras (see articles on astrophotography)
Lab 3: (Outdoors) Using portable 6 inch reflecting telescopes (Two consecutive weeks)
Lab 4: (Indoors, backup lab if bad weather) CLEA excercise on Hubble's law and observatory simulation
Please note that in the case of outdoor labs, we still meet in the usual room Olin 107 at the beginning of
lab period, and that students are expected to help move and setup their equiptment at the beginning of lab,
and return it and put it away at the end.
