First Hour Exam

Our first exam, which will cover all the material through Geometrical Optics and will be on Friday, February 1st.   It will include five or six short essay questions (one paragraph long answer) and an equal number of short answer questions (one sentence long answer). 

Below are some sample questions:

  1. What is a wave? Give three examples of a wave.
  2. Which of its properties make a wave particularly distinct? Give an example to support your explanation.
