How do I remove a virus?

IBM:
1) Insert a floppy disk into the diskette drive
2) Double click the left mouse button on the Virus Scan icon on the desktop
3) Left click on the Properties button
4) Select Disinfect/Query from the "Action to Take" menu and click Ok
5) Click "Execute Task"

MACINTOSH:
1) The installed virus protection will automatically detect and attempt to remove any viruses.

How do I install programs on lab computers?

DO NOT CHANGE OR MODIFY THE COMPUTERS IN THE LABS.
The ITS Public Labs are for general purpose use and are not to be modified by individual users.


How to restart the computer?

IBM: Click on the start menu and Choose Shut Down
Choose Restart the computer. Then, click Yes
MACINTOSH: Press the key with the left arrow, located on the top right of the keyboard.
Then, press the R key on the keyboard.


How do I find the consultant's office?

The Consultant Office is located on the first floor in Steinmentz, Room 108

How do I format a disk?

IBM:
1) Insert a disk into the appropriate drive.
2) Right click on the 3½ Floppy (A) or Zip Disk icon.
3) Choose Format.
4) Choose options (default) and click start.

MACINTOSH:
1) Insert a disk into the appropriate drive.
2) Click on the disk icon.
3) Click on Special -> Erase Disk...
4) Choose options (default) and click start.


How do I save my work?

Save to a USB Key
